The Lord has been speaking to me about posting this. We must all guard our hearts in these last days. As I have been ministering to people from all over the world, the Lord spoke to me that this is something that is needful for His people to hear. This is not just something that we always have needed to do…it is a NOW word for today. More & more people are having terrible things happening to them…they are suddenly experiencing severe health problems & many other problems going on in their lives.
While it is true that things will go wrong in life, people usually never understand that the strong negative feelings…the wrong mindsets that they bottle up inside of them WILL produce negative things in their lives. Pro 17:22 says: “A merry heart does good like a medicine: but a broken spirit dries the bones”. It is vitally important that we do not harbor strong negative feelings in our heart…for those things WILL have an effect on us, if we continue in them for very long. Science & doctors are now confirming what God has already said in His word. They have found that strong negative feelings, such as depression, rejection, or bitterness, etc. is what leads to many chronic disease today.
God says that what is “in” the heart will either make us healthy or sick! The thing is, we are spiraling unto the end & things are escalating & evolving very rapidly now. These negative things used to take a very long time to develop before, but now they are changing very quickly. God has said: “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?” (1Pe 4:17). The closer we come to the end, the faster things will begin to escalate. This will escalate because the Lord is bringing all things to fulfillment & we are now seeing His word manifest in a much quicker way then before. As we look at the picture of “communion” of the bread & cup of the Lord, Paul, the apostle gave the Lord’s instruction & we find this:
1Co 11:27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
1Co 11:28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
1Co 11:29 For he that eats and drinks unworthily, eats and drinks damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.
1Co 11:30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
1Co 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
1Co 11:32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
Many of God’s people have grown soft…they have “let go” of much of what the Lord has said in His word. We must be careful to walk circumspectly in these last days, as God is not wanting us to be destroyed by what is coming…He wants us to be conformed to the image of His Son. This “judgment” that is spoken about here, God intends the trials & hardships we experience in the days ahead to move us towards Him. The thing is, that many will not do this, but because their heart is controlled by “self” & is divided…they are not truly surrendered to the LORD & they will end up “falling away”. We always were to be careful in life before, but even more so from now on!!
Pro 4:20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
Pro 4:21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
Pro 4:22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
Pro 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
It is interesting that we see the word “keep” twice, but each time it is a different word. In verse 21 the word means: “guard, keep watch, protect, save life, observe, retain, treasure up” & the word “keep” in verse 23 means: “to guard, watch over, keep, to preserve”. They meanings are very similar, but if we look closely, we will see that the Lord wants us to guard, protect & TREASURE His words in our heart, but at the same time we must also guard & PRESERVE them there. This is very important, as if we do not treasure His words, we will not preserve them there. And, these words are a command…something that we are responsible for carrying out. If we do not do this, we will be subject to what that may bring upon our lives. It is also very interesting to see here that the word “issues” means: “outgoing, border, end, extremity (of border), source (of life), escape (from death). So, it is the condition of the heart that our lives will either see borders which will limit our “source of life” or “escape from death”.
Pro 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
The point being…the elements of life & death are found in what we speak. They are IN the power of the tongue & it says, “they that LOVE it shall eat the FRUIT thereof”. The “IT” is whichever words we choose to LOVE….word of life or words of death. Something that few ever recognize is, that whatever is the abundance within their heart is what they will be speaking. People usually never realize that their lives are being built & conformed by the very words that they SPEAK. They create the FRUIT that will be seen in their lives. Jesus spoke about this:
Luk 6:43 For a good tree brings not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Luk 6:44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
Luk 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
Over the past 35 years of ministry, I have many times seen those who always seem to have problems in their lives. Nothing ever seems to change for them…they continue to stay sick or they continue to live defeated lives. The sad thing is, that most of these will try to “confess” the scriptures, expecting their lives to change, but they never do. Most of these people will think that if they will just speak out the word of God, that doing so will “magically” make everything “better” for them…but as I write this, the Lord just now gave me revelation on the real reason why this did not & will not ever “work” (I gave you a hint, above). It is because, these people were merely “trying” to confess what they wanted for themselves, but what they said was NOT the abundance of their heart! They may have been saying the right thing, but it had no POWER…it had no “hand or no strength” to bring forth the manifestation. For it is ONLY the abundance that is in our heart that will generate which fruit will be manifested.
Now, I want to bring this on home, as this message REALLY is a important spiritual lesson…one that the Lord says few have grasped the real concept of what He says regarding the importance of what we speak…for it is the importance of what we nurture in our hearts. What store up within our heart is what we will tend to be “speaking”…out of the “abundance” that is there & will thus bring “destiny” into our lives, by those very words. Here is the reality of what Jesus says about words:
Joh 6:63 It is the spirit that quickens; the flesh profits nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
This is a revelation that the Lord gave me some time ago – our “words” ARE spirit! That which we speak, out of the abundance of our hearts…they are spirits! The words we speak ARE either spirit of LIFE or they are spirit of DEATH. We choose which spirit they are by what we allow to come out of our mouths, by the abundance we fill up on within. We can SEE the importance & power of this, as we will acknowledge that in the Creation, God SPOKE out “words” & those words “created” whatever was spoken. Of the things He spoke in Creation, He said that we are made in His image…& we see in the Garden, as Adam SPOKE & gave everything names. Remember, every time God spoke, He said “it was good“.
We cannot escape the reality of knowing that we are to speak right things! We need to set a “guard” on our hearts & be mindful of what we allow to come out of our mouths, by changing the abundance that we allow in our hearts…for as it says above in Prov. 18:21…they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof & we will be sowing seeds for our future into our lives. We will be speaking into our own destiny. But, if we are not careful, we may some day look back & regret what we have allowed to come forth & manifest into our lives. We must actively CHOOSE which “spirit” we will allow out in our words, by staying filled with the right abundance. For they will be the words that will shape our lives.
And be sure to understand this…this is NOT talking about the “name it & claim it” nonsense that has consumed the apostate churches these days. It has nothing to do with the foolish confession of certain scriptures for GAIN, covetousness or greed…this is talking about living as Jesus said we SHOULD…when He said “follow Me” (He said this numerous times in the scriptures).
John 12:49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
The words of His Father was His abundance & we are to be like Him…so, we must FOLLOW HIM. We must speak the words that God gives us to speak & as He said above in John 6:63 that the words that He speaks are words of spirit, which are LIFE. Just as He only speaks the words that He hears His Father say…we too must follow Him & speak also.
For, just as God spoke unto Peter, James & John, when they were with Jesus on the Mount during Jesus’ transfiguration, God said: “…This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him” (Mat 17:5)…we must hear Him & do as He said we are to do. For then we will know that it is good in His sight & we will walk out His will for our lives.
In His great love & mercy,
Pastors Mark & Julie Moore
