Dear Revival-Fire Church Family,
We have been very busy, the past several months with a lot going on in our lives. This message was originally sent out as an email to many of you back in Jan. 24, but had never been posted to this blog. So, I am posting it now, so that others can also receive the content & impact of this message.
———————————————————–
I have waited many months for the Lord to release me to send out this message. This is perhaps one of the most important messages that the Body of Christ could ever hear, apart from the salvation message, itself. Back in 1999, a very loving & humble young prophet approached me & said: “the Lord told me to tell you that one day God would give you a message that has never been heard on Earth before & that message would bring healing & love”. This prophetic word from this young man was a confirmation to something the Lord had already spoken to me back in 1992 when we received our 1st “presbytery” under the apostolic & prophetic ministry that the Lord had brought us under at that time.
Let me just say that when an individual receives “Presbytery”, they are prophesied over by a minimum of 2 confirmed prophets\apostles with a proven “track record” of accurate prophetic ministry. The individual receiving presbytery will first spend time in fasting & prayer, before going before the presbyters. Presbytery is usually reserved for those that are set apart for the ministry, as Paul spoke to Timothy & revealed: 1Timothy 4:14 “Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery”.
During that presbytery in 1992, one of the things that the Lord told me was, “new revelation was going to come out of my mouth & I would “walk in places in the Spirit, that other people haven’t walked in”. That time of presbytery was powerful & impacting & it lasted for nearly 14 minutes. The transcription for this presbytery was typed “word for word” using a standard sized font & single spaced on paper…the finished product was 3 & 1\2 pages long. Since 1992, the Lord has fulfilled almost all of the many things that He had spoken during that time of Presbytery & thus proving that the accuracy of what was spoken to us, was truly of Him.
Back in June of 2013, as I was spending time seeking the Lord, He gave me a very profound message…a message that was also SO very simple that a child could understand it. Now, I cannot say definitively, that THIS message IS the “message” that this young prophet spoke to me about in 1999, but this message is still very, very powerful & heart provoking, nonetheless! This message comes from a very common scripture that most all Christians look to & even take as a “life promise” for their own lives. The truth that the Lord has revealed to me about this passage is eyeopening & will make the believer take a very different approach as to how they have perceived that scripture & also how it should rightfully be applied to their lives.
Many of you that have known me for very long know that the Lord has placed a strong prophetic anointing upon my life & He has taught me to “draw upon that anointing”, even when I am composing & writing the many emails that I receive daily. For I do not want to trust my own limited wisdom & understanding, in responding to others…I don’t want my “opinion” to ever interfere, so I will always “pull on the Lord” to flow through me & give me His wisdom & understanding, so that what is written is HIS ministry & will touch the lives of others, even in an email response.
The “message” that the Lord has revealed from within this scripture passage, is one that is truly prophetic & truly a word from God. God has told us in Heb. 4:12-13 that His word is: “is alive and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do”. Having this mindset, you can approach this message that the Lord wants to reveal to you, with a heart that sees things as God sees them.
We must be willing to approach this message with a heart, mindset & spirit that “divides asunder of soul & spirit & knows the thoughts & intents of the heart” (Heb. 4:12), because this message is the basis of the very foundation that we as Christians cleave to for all of our “personal daily needs”…because we believe that “my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus”. It is important that as this message unfolds, that it be applied to each of our hearts, as we are able to receive it. For truly it is our own heart that will keep us from understanding the true meaning of this very important word of God, which we all know as…Phil. 4:19.
Who among us, has not quoted this verse for our own lives…so many, many times??? Who among us has not claimed this verse for their very needs, often & even daily??? We all have & so each of us can be in agreement about this very thing! But, as each of us have taken this verse into our very lives, we have taken it unto ourselves & in so doing, many times we have “misappropriated” God’s promise in ways that do not align with even our “own understanding” of this verse. For many times we will say that we are “claiming” what we have “need” of, when in reality many times what we think we “need”, is really only our own “want”.
This distinction is easily clouded because of the “ill effect” of modern theology that exists within the so called Christian church, which has perverted the word of God into being our “genie in a lamp” or our “sugar daddy” & is seen as the way that we expect things to be. But, this is not what our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ has told us – by His own words, because He guides us into an understanding that reveals the truth about life. For this is the truth about a life within Him, as He said: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matt. 6:33). Now, if we will re-read this & include the context, we see what He was REALLY talking about:
Mat 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Mat 6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Mat 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are ye not much better than they?
Mat 6:27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
Mat 6:28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
Mat 6:29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Mat 6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
Mat 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
Mat 6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knows that ye have need of all these things.
Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Mat 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
It is talking about our “thoughts & needs”. Paul the apostle also spoke of this same “concept”, as he gave direction to young Timothy:
1Ti 6:3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
1Ti 6:4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof comes envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
1Ti 6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
1Ti 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
1Ti 6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
1Ti 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
As we venture forward into the truth of God, the veil begins to pull away from our eyes & our heart begins to feel something that it hasn’t felt before…an uneasiness with things “as we have known them”…an uneasiness that must give way into “understanding”…an uneasiness that must give way into knowing the truth. Just as Paul spoke of the heart turning to the Lord in 2 Cor. 3:16, he spoke of “liberty of the Spirit of God” in the life of the believer, as we will allow the Lord to show us His truth & we will walk in it. He said: “we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD” (verse 18). As we will embrace the truth of God in our hearts, our hearts are freed to be ALL of who God has called us to be.
This brings us back to the scripture in question…the passage that God wants us to see in new light…in new understanding…in the “simplistic” way that makes everything easier to understand. Because understanding this this message, will take all the hard times…it will take all the easy times…it will take all the good times…it will take all the bad times & make us to truly know in our hearts, what God has told us all along , that “we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Rom 8:28). You know, we all “say” we believe this passage…& many times when bad things happen, we may even all bite our lip & declare this very thing…but deep within our heart, there is usually something amiss…because having things like this happen to us goes against what we have been taught. Well, it goes against what we have been taught by man…not by God…& that brings us back to this important passage we are NOW going to learn anew.
“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:19).
Just stop for a moment & detach your prior understanding of what this verse means. Honestly…just let go of your “preconceived” ideals. I know…I know…that is not an easy thing to do…because we all have held so strongly to our previous understanding…we all have “cleaved” to it & IT has made its place in us. You know, if we even look at the word I mentioned above “preconceived”, that should give us a glimpse into something…for things that are “conceived” can be good or they can be bad…there is good seed & there is bad seed…the seeds of our very thoughts! James told us:
Jam 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempts he any man:
Jam 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Jam 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death.
Jam 1:16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
Jam 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
Jam 1:18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
Now, you are going to ask me: “what this has passage have to do with Phil. 4:19?”. Well, let me just say this up front…when we read this promise from God (Phil. 4:19), each & everyone of us will usually always get fixated on the word “riches”…when the emphasis is really on the Lord. Hello? Did you hear me say that??? You ask me: “How can I possibly say this?” Well, the verse starts with “For God” & ends with “by Christ Jesus”, but we always get fixated on the middle – we see “our need” & we look for the “riches”. This brings us to the point where we have to stop & begin to “rethink” our heart & our true inner motives. For, if we will actually go back & read what Paul was actually saying in this scripture context, we will see that he was talking about something very different than what we have been led to believe…so, let’s look at the context “together”:
Phi 4:10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but you lacked opportunity.
Phi 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
Phi 4:12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
Phi 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.
Phi 4:14 Notwithstanding you have well done, that you did communicate with my affliction.
Phi 4:15 Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.
Phi 4:16 For even in Thessalonica you sent once and again unto my necessity.
Phi 4:17 Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.
Phi 4:18 But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odor of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.
Phi 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Now, don’t get me wrong…we can keep the previous mindset that we had about this verse & “run with it” the way we have for all of our Christian lives, up to now…& by that, I mean to keep that “prior understanding”. Because there are 3 spiritual levels that we all have access to in our lives in the Lord, as we see revealed through the Old Testament Tabernacle. There was the “Outer Court”…there was the “Inner Court” & there was the “Holy Of Holies”. God told me that His people are divided into these THREE realms in their Christian walk. Those who stay in the Outer Court, with the “brazen altar” & the “cleansing laver” are they who have no real hunger for the things of God & will only come to Him with their tithes & offering & prayer requests. These are mainly carnal in their lives & are in “continual need” of being “washed & forgiven”.
But, those who will begin to pursue God more aggressively, make it into the Inner Court, where there is the candlestick, the shew bread & the golden altar of incense. And these begin to have their eyes “illuminated by the word of God” & “eat the bread of life” & begin to offer incense to the Lord, which is their hunger for more of God, with a more surrendered life then those in the Outer Court & their prayers are “well pleasing” to God. These that seek the Lord at “His altar” are those desiring a closer walk with Him, than just the Outer Court. But, those who will persevere further, go into the Holy of Holies…these go where the “ark of the covenant is”…which represents the presence of God. These are they, who go past the Outer Court…past the Inner Court & cross over into true intimacy with God.
Now, as we will begin to receive the true prophetic impact of Phil 4:19, we will see that as we will truly desire a living relationship with the Lord, we will come to the place that we have no “need” but for more of Him. Our reality of Phil. 4:19 will be that HE supplies ALL of our need, because HE IS ALL we need. Because, we are hidden in Him…we are in that secret place…we are in that place that no one can know for us, but we must experience that place alone. This place is open to each & everyone of us…but it is each of us, who must choose & decide where we want to be…for we all live in one of those 3 places. We live either in the Outer Court, or the Inner Court…or the Holy of Holies.
Many Christians stay in the outer court & will continue to wrestle with the lusts of the flesh & struggle with their own carnal needs & they must frequently wash their sins in the brass “laver”, which is Jesus’ blood. But, few ever even make it into the inner court…for that would require the “circumcision of their flesh” & to have to live a life that is responsible & fully dedicated to the LORD & not unto…SELF. We can see this in the way that the “church” is today, because a important message is missing in what is known as the body of Christ & that is the message that Jesus spoke of in 3 of the Gospels:
Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Mark 8:34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
The truth is…in today’s life as a “Christian”…most of God’s people have been taught a perverted lifestyle. To not really follow Christ, but to be fixated on SELF. Instead of following Christ & taking up their CROSS…most have denied Christ, by living for only themselves & these have in essence, rejected the Cross. The life of most of today’s so-called Christians, is one of “ease & of blessing”. The truth is…if we will really see it as it really is…it is a life that is one of carnality & compromise. It is actually the “wide road” that Jesus spoke about…the one that leads unto destruction…not the one that leads unto life.
Some churches are now even teaching what is being called “hyper-grace”…in which it really doesn’t matter what you do in your life, because in the end, God is going to have “all to be saved” – including the devil! And because of the carnal mindset that exists in Christendom today, the falling away is slowly occurring…slowly eating away at righteousness & godly living. And very soon, the world we now live in, is going to change…& in this change, we will see the fulfillment of Jesus’ words, when He said: “Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death”(Mar 13:12). This will soon happen, as more & more believers begin to fall away. It is going to get much, much worse!
So, you ask me: “what do we do with all of this?” Going back to the message of Phi. 4:19, each of us must make a decision as to what we are going to do. You ask me: “Are you saying that I cannot want stuff?” No…I didn’t say that. You ask: “Do I need to beat & batter my self, so I do not want stuff?”. No…I didn’t say that either! You ask: “Do I need to have a poverty mentality & get rid of all my stuff?”. No, I didn’t say that either! Then you ask: “Well, then what ARE you saying?”. In answer, I say this: it us up to each & everyone of us as to what we are to do in our individual lives. It is up to each us to know what the Lord wants us to do & then we are to do it! The truth is…God doesn’t mind for “us to have stuff”…He minds when “stuff has us”. God doesn’t mind is possess nice things…He minds, when nice things possess us! God doesn’t mind if we own nice things…He minds when nice things own us.
Because when we fall into this…where “stuff has us”…where “nice things possess us”…where “nice things own us”, we are giving all of our attentions over to those things. We have to remember that we are called as “stewards” of the things that He gives to us. Stewardship requires us to be responsible…stewardship requires that we give account unto God. I have seem people’s lives be destroyed because of their “responsibility” to their stuff & the stuff owned them! Families fell apart…childhoods were marred…marriages failed…& much trauma & wounding resulted. All because of their “prosperity”…for in their “stewardship” to the things, they became the slaves.
But, God wants us to be CLOSE to Him…He wants us to come to the place that we desire HIM MORE than any thing else. He wants to be OUR God! He doesn’t want “things” to be what our lives are all about. Jesus said in Luke 12:15: “And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consists not in the abundance of the things which he possesses“. Paul instructed us in Romans 6:16: “Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?”.
This doesn’t mean that we cannot have nice things…this doesn’t mean that at all. God just wants for us to desire Him – MORE than we desire anything else. God wants us to BE literal “examples” of Phil. 4:19, where He “provides ALL of our need” & we really do not “need” anything else! Just the other day I was sharing with someone, how I really do not care so much for “stuff”, because the things of the Spirit are my riches & that is where my heart IS. Anyone who really knows me, will say that this is true about me. People want me to buy “new clothes”…people want me to get “new toys & gadgets”…people want me to upgrade “things”…but I really do not NEED all of these things…because I am “content with such things as I have”!
Another thing that the Lord wants me to share with you about the mindset that He is speaking about in this message is regarding “the desires of the heart”. For this will help many of you to understand what God is saying. Psalms 37:4 says: “Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart”. The Lord DOES honor “the desires of our heart”, as we will “delight ourselves” in Him. He WILL “give us the desires of our heart”. He taught me a powerful lesson about this, way back in the 1980s.
In 1986 I saw a nice car that I really wanted & I asked the Lord if He would allow me to buy it. He told me “no”…& He said that because I would dedicate too much time to that care, washing & waxing it, etc. & that car would become an idol before God. I knew that He was right, so I forgot about the car. Well, years later in 1989, I saw that car again & I went & looked at it & asked the Lord if I could have the car & He said “yes”, because now He knew that I wouldn’t make an idol out of the car. He was right…I rarely washed it or waxed it…I maintained it mechanically, but for the most part, I was “bad”, because I really didn’t take care of it on the outside!
But, going back to “the desires of the heart”, there is even a GREATER truth & revelation about this that many never see…this is because most people are fixated & focused on themselves, even though they may also be seeking the Lord. What the Lord wants His people to “know” here, is FAR greater than just the obvious understanding of the words in Psalms 37:4. And as His people will open their heart to receive this, it will open them up to MUCH greater things in Him. For what many do not truly understand is, that when we will TRULY “delight ourselves in the Lord”…our own “desires will then CHANGE & we will find that HE WILL BECOME the desire of OUR heart. And when He is truly OUR DESIRE, we will ONLY want MORE OF HIM! This is something that can only be KNOWN & understood from the perspective of an “intimate relationship” with Him.
When we begin to experience Him as our true “delight”, everything else will become “secondary” & of no real consequence or importance to us. And it is THEN that He WILL give us MORE of what we TRULY desire – He will give us MORE of HIMSELF. The interesting thing here is, when this change of DESIRE, for Him occurs in our heart, something else happens…we will find that He will then “withhold no good thing from us”, because our lives are consumed with ONLY HIM. Psalms 84:11 says: “For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly“. This word “uprightly” means MORE than “without blemish, perfect, upright”…it also carries a GREATER illumination of something even MORE profound…because it infers to our being “complete, whole, entire & sound “.
This GREATER understanding of the word “upright” helps us to see that as we will “delight ourselves in the Lord”, we will be walking uprightly before Him & we will be in wholeness, because He alone is our desire. Nothing else will be able to REALLY satisfy us…nothing else will REALLY fill us…because we are “complete in Him”, who is the head of all principality and power! (Col 2:10). We are “whole in Him”…we are “entire & sound in Him”…for He alone can satisfy us…He alone, is ALL we really NEED.
So, now I want to leave you with this. Please take this word & prayerfully let the Lord minister it into your heart. This isn’t a message of condemnation…this isn’t a message to put anyone down or to make anyone feel bad. This is a message to show the TRUTH about the relationship that God wants to have with each of us. Christianity has been blown WAY out of proportion, compared to what the New Testament shows it to be. Just read the book of Acts…you will see that Christians today are FAR from the Christians of the 1st century.
So, who changed? Well, it sure wasn’t God…for the LORD changes not (Mal. 3:6)!!! So, unfortunately, it was us…we changed. Because we had accepted many teachings of man which ended up provoking us into carnality, covetousness, complacency & compromise. It is now time that we begin to seek the Lord & draw close to Him, like we truly love Him & want HIM to be the “provision” in our lives…its time for intimacy with Him. Not running after “things’…not running after “stuff”…not running after anything else, other than Him. For, when we will do this…we will then become more like Him & we shall arise in the power of His Spirit & do exploits in this world, as His Children manifest His greatness in this last hour.
This year 2014 will be a defining year for us…for God wants to take us into a profoundly more INTIMATE relationship with Him. Let this year be the year that this will happen in your lives. My prayer to you today is, may HE become your provision…may HE become the DESIRE of your heart…may HE be all that you truly NEED!
With all of our love & blessing,
